Desicions

I thought about it and have decided to attend college full time--screw the unemployment, job search, rules and all the rest of the bullshit. I went to a new student orientation last Thursday, and whole system is geared toward full-time, 12-credit per semester (or more) students fresh out of high school. There were so many conflicts while trying to register online for a couple of night classes, that I couldn't even get six credits (two to three classes to be considered a part time student) to work out with the CIS program requirements. So, I'll be working out a complete schedule today.
Shout at the Wind

No wonder the U.S. education system is considered one of the worst in the world. If I were fresh out of high school and sitting in Thursday's orientation, I would have run screaming for the door. The orientation took three hours and I got absolutely nothing accomplished except to received reams of paperwork of information that doesn't pertain to me. The counselor, who looked like he'd already been through the wringer, started the meeting (about 35 students packed into a room meant for 20) by saying, "We're way behind, so we'll be convering this quickly." It went south from there, because everything was, again, geared toward first-time kids fresh out of high school.

Needless to say, I am not happy. I accomplished absolutely nothing in the orientation, rushed home to cram some food down my throat and ran off to one of my Summer night classes.
Change of Venue

I changed Shout at the Wind's description because 'Diary of a Mad, Displaced Worker' seems more on target for this rambling. Besides, that is how I am referred to lately in the unemployed circles. Not laid off or shit canned. I'm a displaced worker.

Oh, BTW. I did not get the position with Aurora Health. I drove for two hours (one way), was precise yet friendly, answered almost two hours worth of questions, and they gave it to someone else. That's what I get for not sucking up to the right people.
